I like to listen/compose many kinds of metal, since I don't want to
be limited by just one... This might be one reason, why I joined Repulsive
in the first place - it gave more motivation to compose harder stuff as
well as melodic... Variety is the word I believe in, massproduction sucks,
you know...
I've been in this scene for a quite long time now, and I've noticed
some things that make me more or less pissed off... First off all, I really
hate those newbie (many "professionals" as well) trackers who consider
themselves as the greatest after releasing couple of "great" tunes... They
don't seem to have any respect towards others, and don't even bother to
check out other peoples tunes... If everyone acts like this and considers
themselves as better than the others, this shitty "scene" will slowly fade
away...
The second thing I'm not too happy about is the fact, that many people
are thinking in a too black'n white way... They can't see or hear anything
else, than what they want to... In metal mod scene this means, that many
people often automatically consider anything that is different than their
musical taste as a shit... Of course there are lots of tunes, that truly
are shit, but people
should try to lear be more open anyways, especially when it comes to
the different genres and styles... A good example of this is myself...
When I heard brutal death metal for a first time, I though something like:
"hmm... i wonder how anyone can play such a shit..?" and got only a awful
headache... But after some time I started to notice new things in that
stuff, which I first had considered as a nothing but annoying backround
noise... And actually started to like it in a someway... So nowedays I
listen/like both sides of metal, the hard and rough as well as the soft
and melodic... Mainly depending on which mood I happen to be in...
